SUMMARY:Brunch + AGO Visit
DESCRIPTION:We will have brunch at AGO Bistro and take in the exhibit below
:\nEXHIBITION OVERVIEW\nWhat does “home” mean to you?\n\nFeaturing wor
ks produced by the creative agency Sunday School\, Feels Like Home invit
es audiences to consider contemporary conversations around the notion of h
ome. Together with artists from across Africa and the diaspora\, Sunday Sc
hool strives to share diverse stories and perspectives that reflect their
collaborative ethos.\n\nThrough a selection of photographs and video work\
, Feels Like Home highlights work from three series: The Hair Appointme
nt (2018) by Jeremy Rodney-Hall\, Ten Toes Down (2021) by Kreshonna K
eane\, and Jump Ball (2019–ongoing) by O’shane Howard and Joshua Ki
ssi\; foregrounding community\, fashion\, and culture at the intersection
of art and education. Each project speaks to the unique and vibrant reflec
tions of Black identities communicated by Sunday School\, while further pl
anting their roots beyond the digital realm – for home is an inhabited
space both tangible and intangible.\n\nThis presentation is Sunday School
’s first major exhibition in Toronto\, marking the agency’s sixth anni
versary as they continue to produce numerous projects in Toronto and aroun
d the globe. Curated by Emilie Croning\, Curatorial Assistant\, Arts of Gl
 obal Africa and the Diaspora.
