 ul debut novel explores the history of an African-American family in the A
 merican South\, from the time before the American Civil War and slavery\, 
 through the Civil Rights Movement\, to the present. It is a thought-provok
 ing and moving exploration of race\, identity\, and family\, and we are ex
 cited to discuss it with you.\n\nThe book club meeting will take place on
