Join Black Women Connect for our August Book Club as we come together to discuss The Neighbor Favor by Kristina Forest.
This month, we shift into a lighter but still meaningful read, a warm, romantic, and thoughtful story about love, identity, vulnerability, and the courage it takes to be seen.
We are continuing our in-person gatherings, with a hybrid option available for those joining online. Join us in downtown Toronto at King and Peter Street for an evening of connection, laughter, and conversation.
About the Book
The Neighbor Favor follows Lily Greene, a book editor who feels stuck in her career and personal life, and Nick Brown, a bestselling fantasy author who is navigating his own pressures and expectations.
What begins as an anonymous email friendship between two people who feel unseen evolves into something much more complicated when their real lives intersect. As identities are revealed and expectations collide, both Lily and Nick must confront what they truly want, who they are, and what it means to be honest in love.
Kristina Forest gives us a story that is warm, engaging, and grounded in real emotion. Beneath the romance, the novel explores themes of self-worth, creative ambition, vulnerability, and the fear of not being enough.
This is a feel-good read with depth, and one that will spark conversation about relationships, identity, and taking emotional risks.
